The night was young at the Observatory North Park as Marina & the Diamonds took the stage flocked by her young devoted fans, many of them dressed in fruit costumes, bearing signs, and screaming for their idol.
Marina Diamandis, on tour for her third studio album Froot, started off the night with the lively “Bubblegum Bitch†as the young teens eagerly sang along to the cheeky lyrics. Her concern for the crowd was charming, as she reprimanded everyone to stay cool and drink water. The song “Primadonna,†off her second album Electra Heart, was the most electro-sounding song of the night and also received the loudest cheers.
Diamandis’ ethereal vocals filled the room, and even though her fan base consists primarily of young teenagers, many parents danced along and seemed to enjoy themselves as well.
