Old Tiger celebrated the release of their debut album, Love Have Mercy, at the Casbah on Friday. The band’s R&B-inspried slow jams sounded every bit as good live as on the new record, with frontman Dustin Lothspeich’s soulful tenor leading a charge that swelled to as many as 13 musicians on the small stage. The Heavy Guilt opened, playing for an enthusiastic crowd that seemed well acquainted with their material, while The Red Fox Tails filled out the night with a series of jazzy sets in the Atari Lounge.
