Our favorite Chicago post rockers are back with a new video and news of a winter tour.
This time around, Tortoise will hit several cities that they missed in 2009 (though unfortunately, San Diego still isn’t one of ’em). They’re still celebrating the release of Beacons of Ancestorship, the band’s first release in over five years. They also recently completed an extensive tour of Europe and recorded an improvised BBC Session, news that Thrill Jockey will hopefully elaborate upon soon.
The above video is for their latest single, “Prepare Your Coffin”, and it’s a cool expansion of Beacons of Ancestorship‘s geometric cover art. It was directed by Andrew Paynter and JUICE. Thrill Jockey has also made an MP3 of “Prepare Your Coffin” available for your downloading pleasure.
