Owl and Bear is getting ready for summer vacation by sampling music from all over the globe. Pack your suitcase, because this month’s podcast features the contemporary tropicalia style of Brazilian singer Céu, a new track from Australian rock star Courtney Barnett, and tales of towering despair from Scotch indie band Frightened Rabbit (who play the Belly Up this Saturday, by the way).
For those of you who prefer your music domestic and familiar, we’ve got lots of old favorites for you to listen to. Radiohead are here with “Daydreaming,” a new song from their latest album, A Moon Shaped Pool. The Coathangers‘ “Hiya” crunches along with that signature Atlanta punk sound, and we finish up with the bittersweet duet “Lay Me Down,” featuring country legends Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson.
We know we’ve been light on San Diego bands lately, so if you’ve got a local song worth listening to, let us know in the comments!
