Canadian band Hey Rosetta! just released their fourth studio album, Second Sight, and it’s their most ambitious yet.
The album features careful arrangements that showcase the talents of all seven band members, and also pushes the boundaries of the band’s previous body of work. Many of the songs have a quiet undertone and deeply contemplative quality, with interesting rhythmic patterns, harmonies, and, of course, a strong string section. The album was produced by Marcus Paquin (Stars, The National, Arcade Fire).
Their video for “What Arrows” (above) was filmed in a small church on the island of Fogo in Newfoundland, the perfect setting for such a simple and dreamy song.
Hey Rosetta will play the Soda Bar on March 10th. Tickets can be purchased here.
