Bar Pink attracted a large crowd on the second and final night of the San Diego Music Thing. The North Park watering hole sported one of the festival’s better Saturday lineups, thanks to a solid assortment of local acts that included Tropical Popsicle and The Howls.
LA’s Races fit in nicely amongst the San Diego bands, impressing the crowd with their lush, sweeping compositions. Songs like the majestic “Big Broom” showed off the group’s epic songwriting and polished guy-girl harmonies.
After Races’ set, San Diego’s Hills Like Elephants took to the stage with their dancey, buoyant rock. Hills Like Elephants sound tighter every time we see them, and they’re quickly becoming one of the city’s most reliably entertaining live acts.
