“Gun Has No Trigger” is the lead single for Dirty Projectors‘ new album, Swing Lo Magellan. According to band mastermind and video director David Longstreth, the song is about “the possibility for true dissent.”
The Brooklyn band just released Swing Lo Magellan, along with a special “Gun Has No Trigger” vinyl single. The limited edition, 8″ square, 200gm thick “Tablet of Values” will feature the single on the A side and an etching of the song’s lyrics “translated into Sumerian Akkadian Cuneiform” on the B side. These guys are nothing if not unique.
Dirty Projectors have also hit the road for a three-month tour. O&B favorites Wye Oak will support the band at San Diego’s House of Blues on July 29, basically making the gig a “don’t miss.” Tickets may be purchased here; a full list of Dirty Projectors dates is below.
