MP3: Gardens and Villa – “Black Hills”

For Santa Barbara five-piece Gardens and Villa, 2011 was a bit of a breakout year. Between touring the U.S. with Generationals and earning praise from taste-makers like Pitchfork, NPR, and Owl and Bear, the band flourished in the indie scene. Now, they’re hoping to keep up the rapid growth.

Gardens and Villa is currently working on a follow-up to their excellent self-titled debut, and they’re embarking on a short tour to test drive a few new songs. The band will play the Casbah on February 17; fellow Californians Lesands will support.
