Former Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell has been pretty busy lately, and for a 47-year-old grunge hero who isn’t Eddie Vedder, that’s pretty impressive. He recently contributed a song to the film Machine Gun Preacher, and in November completed the serialized release of Songbook, a career-spanning collection of solo live tracks.

The golden-voiced vocalist will cap his nationwide solo tour at San Diego’s Balboa Theatre on 12/17; Shudder to Think’s Craig Wedren will open.
